The second floor of this ranch home in the heart of Coral Gables had a beautiful view of the pool and tropical garden, but the owners hardly ever went out onto the long balcony.  In order to make the space more appealing, we installed an ipe deck. The rich dark color blended in well with the natural surrounding, and did not heat up in the sun, which meant it could be enjoyed at any time of day.
