Welcome to Miami’s Trusted Ipe Decking Installation Experts – FAQs

At Miami’s leading Ipe decking installation company, we’re committed to delivering unmatched craftsmanship using only the highest-quality tropical hardwoods. Thanks to our sister company, which directly imports premium lumber, we’re able to offer exceptional materials at the best possible prices—without compromising on sustainability.

We take pride in doing top-quality work in an environmentally conscious way, and we know you may have questions about our process, our materials, and what sets us apart. Below, you’ll find answers to the most common questions from homeowners and builders looking to transform their outdoor spaces with durable, beautiful Ipe decking.

What is Ipe wood, and why is it popular for decks in South Florida?

Ipe (pronounced “ee-pay”) is a dense, durable hardwood from South America. It’s naturally resistant to rot, bugs, salt, and moisture, making it ideal for decks in Miami’s humid, coastal climate.

With proper installation and care, an Ipe deck can last 25–40 years or more. It’s one of the longest-lasting decking materials available.

Ipe doesn’t need much maintenance structurally, but if you want to keep its rich color, you’ll need to oil it once or twice a year. Otherwise, it will fade to a natural gray.

We work in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. That includes Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Fisher Island, Brickell, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Manalapan, and more.

Yes. We build pergolas, outdoor kitchens, docks, cladding for ceilings and walls, custom fences, and more. If it involves outdoor woodwork, we can help.

Costs depend on size, location, and design. Ipe is a premium hardwood, so it’s more expensive than softwood or some composite options. We offer pricing transparency and will work with your goals and budget.

Yes. We offer free phone or on-site consultations depending on the situation to homeowners and builders across South Florida. We’ll answer your questions and provide a clear next step.

Absolutely. We regularly collaborate with designers, GCs, and developers to deliver cohesive, well-built outdoor spaces.

Most projects take 2–4 weeks, depending on size and complexity. We give you a realistic timeline up front and stick to it.

We do not. We can provide some insight for necessary permits and make sure all work meets South Florida building codes, including Miami-Dade NOA standards.

We build custom outdoor living features, including Ipe wood decks, pergolas, outdoor kitchens, fences, dock systems, ceiling and wall cladding, and rooftop deck structures. Every project is tailored to your space, needs, and South Florida’s unique conditions.

You can call us directly, send us an email, or fill out our short contact form. We’ll schedule a free consultation, talk through your goals, and explain your options in clear, simple terms.

A typical custom outdoor wood‑project in South Florida (for example a 300 sq ft hardwood deck) can range from around $15,000 to $30,000 or more, depending on materials, height, design complexity and site conditions.
But price isn’t just about “deck boards.” You’ll also pay for:
the right wood or composite material (exotic hardwoods cost more)
the framing/substructure (especially if elevated or rooftop)
building permits, engineering or drawings (especially in coastal/hurricane‑zones)
access, site prep, demolition of existing structures
railings, stairs, lighting, shade systems, outdoor kitchen features you choose
labour for skilled craftsmen, the seasonal costs & logistics in South Florida
finishing work, maintenance expectations, and a contingency for surprises
Because of all these variables, we always start with a free consultation, look at your site, talk through your goals and budget — then we give you a tailored quote. That way you know exactly what you’re paying for and why.

Most of our projects are completed in 2–4 weeks once we start. Larger or more complex builds may take longer. We always give you a realistic schedule and keep you updated along the way.

We don’t currently offer ongoing maintenance, but we’re happy to recommend trusted local professionals. We also provide tips and guidance to help you keep your deck or outdoor wood features looking their best over time.

Yes. We regularly collaborate with general contractors, architects, and interior designers. We’re used to working as part of a larger team on custom homes or high-end remodels.

Many outdoor projects in South Florida require permits, especially if they’re elevated, attached to a structure, or in a waterfront or hurricane zone. We handle permitting as part of our service to make the process easier for you.
